Based Upon were commissioned to create the signature public art piece that will celebrate the dawn of this new city in the Middle East.

Spanning 20m2 across along a curved wall Lusail is born amongst the two natural phenomenon from which it originates – the desert and the sea.

Individual pieces appear to be fluttering on to the wall, building the final image. Such a fluttering, as if being brought in by the wind reflects the wonder of creation and the magical veil between that which is given directly from God and that which is born at the hands of men: the visionaries, engineers and designers developing the city.

In Based Upon Lusail we have created a work that is fluid and has a sense of motion to it reflecting the tremendous energy and power of creation that lies at the heart of the new city.
